Urban Produce Push is ATH’s vision to ensure that every corner of Kansas City has access to an abundance of healthy, nourishing fruits and vegetables. Through UPP, ATH is taking action to address communities struggling most with food insecurity. In these areas, there is a significant lack of resources such as quality grocery stores, community gardens, and access to fresh produce. With your help, our goal is to bridge these gaps and create a more balanced food landscape by providing support where it’s needed most urgently.

UPP-Ward Bound: The History of 64150

Nestled in Platte County within the tranquil community of Riverside, Missouri is the 64150 zip code. Riverside’s history is inseparable from its location on the banks of the majestic Missouri River. The town was formally incorporated in 1951.

For many years, Riverside was known for its Riverside Race Track, a place of excitement and adventure. The Riverside Park Jockey Club operated from 1928 to 1937, earning the affectionate moniker “Pendergast Track” after its patron, the city boss of Kansas City, Tom Pendergast. Although he was not officially on its organization papers, his influence was undeniable. The track, which originally hosted dog races, was eventually replaced by an automobile race track that thrived until the 1990s.

Today, 64105’s residents are primarily white, with a diverse age demographic. The neighborhood boasts a thriving community of people in their late 20s to early 40s, as well as middle-aged adults. There’s a rich tapestry of single adults, although families are few in number.

With a median household income of $39,390, Riverside is a community that values economic diversity. Here, 74% of households don’t have children, reflecting the unique blend of lifestyles within the neighborhood. While Riverside’s history is illustrious, there are modern-day challenges, including access to fresh and nutritious food. ATH believes in nurturing the spirit of Riverside by addressing food security issues in the neighborhood. Learn how you can help below.

Team UPP with 64150: Here's how you can help!

  • Volunteer Your Time: Join us in gleaning farms and fields, rescuing fresh produce that would otherwise go to waste. Your hands-on help can directly nourish families in need.
  • Become a Monthly Donor: Your consistent support ensures that we can sustain our efforts, year-round. Even a small monthly contribution goes a long way in the fight against food insecurity.
  • Rally Your Organization: Encourage your workplace or organization to become ATH sponsors and/or volunteers. Together, we can create a ripple effect of change, impacting entire communities.
  • Grow for Us: If you have a green thumb, consider growing fruits and vegetables for After the Harvest. Your garden can be a source of fresh, nutritious produce for those who need it most.
  • Adopt a Zip Code: Choose a community that speaks to your heart and adopt a zip code. Your support will help us lower food insecurity rates, empower local growers, and provide essential nourishment to residents. To get started, contact:
