MEDIA ADVISORY

Corporate, community teams available for interview as 2022 Amaizing Sweet Corn Glean-A-Thon & Festival kicks off

Organized by After the Harvest and the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame, the Amaizing Sweet Corn Glean-A-Thon aims to deliver 50,000 ears of freshly harvested sweet corn to Kansas City area agencies that share ATH’s mission to fight food insecurity.

KANSAS CITY, MO (July 13, 2022) – Starting this week, corporate and community volunteer teams will compete to harvest as much sweet corn as possible from three regional farms, kicking off the 2022 Amaizing Sweet Corn Glean-A-Thon and Festival. Reporters, media outlets, and other news organizations are invited to witness the coordinated effort and interview the farmers, teams, and After the Harvest staff involved. Following each harvest, teams will deliver this fresh produce to local food pantries and other agencies fighting food insecurity in Kansas City.

The Glean-A-Thon will culminate in a Sweet Corn Festival on July 30th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs, Kan. For precise dates, locations, and interviewees available, see the schedule below. Please pay careful attention to farm addresses and check with the Google Maps link provided to ensure location accuracy. To schedule an interview with After the Harvest, the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame, our generous farmers, volunteers, or sponsors, please contact Autumn MorningSky at autumn@ath19.bluesym6.work.
