Brooke Freeman

BROOKE FREEMAN
Community Engagement Coordinator

Brooke Freeman joined After the Harvest in April 2022 as our newest Community Engagement Coordinator. Brooke earned her B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, working for the local USGS water science center following graduation.

After working in the field for a year, she felt something was missing in her education and desired to learn how social and ecological health are interrelated. Soon she would earn her MA in Sustainable Communities from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, where her thesis research examined local food security in the Flagstaff region and proposed recommendations to bring more social equity into the food system. After graduating with her second degree, Brooke became a program coordinator for the Coconino County Cooperative Extension Office, where she supported gardening and nutrition education.

Brooke is thrilled to be part of the After the Harvest team and apply her professional passions in the city she grew up in. When she isn’t working, Brooke is chasing her one-year-old around, gardening, making watercolor greeting cards for her friends and family, or dabbling in whatever crafty hobby calls to her. Brooke can’t wait to work with the amazing volunteers, farmers, and supporters behind After the Harvest and looks forward to meeting you!
