You're invited! Join us for the second annual Amaizing Sweet Corn Glean-A-Thon & Festival
After the Harvest’s annual Amaizing Sweet Corn Glean-A-Thon & Festival is an exciting weeks-long event that brings together the community to gather and donate sweet corn to local food pantries. This annual event is a one-of-a-kind way to get involved in the fight against hunger and make a difference in the lives of those in need.
Last summer, 13 teams of volunteers helped us harvest more than 50,000 ears of sweet corn from three Kansas City-area farms, and teams delivered the bounty to local agencies and food pantries. This July, we’re doing it again!
Over the course of two weeks, gleaning teams will choose a day in which they’ll have a 3-hour window to harvest as much sweet corn from as possible from an ATH Partner Farm. All harvested sweet corn will be delivered to Kansas City-area food pantries, community kitchens, and other agencies that feed food insecure individuals in our community. The Glean-A-Thon concludes with the Amaizing Sweet Corn Festival at the National Agricultural Center & Hall of Fame.
But we can’t do it without your help! After the Harvest is seeking volunteer teams from area corporations and businesses, community and church groups, and families and individuals. Compete to win prizes for teamwork, creativity, strategy, and most pounds per team member. Plus, you’ll get that warm tingly feeling of knowing you helped feed our hungry neighbors.
The Amaizing Sweet Corn Glean-A-Thon & Festival is also a great opportunity for organizations to become corporate sponsors of the event and help support the fight against hunger. Learn more about corporate sponsorship packages below.
